Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Lecture Series

寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)在過(guò)去的十六年成長(zhǎng)中，逐步形成了特有和鮮明的國(guó)際化辦學(xué)特色，取得了階段性發(fā)展成績(jī)。2018年，寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)正式開(kāi)啟以“卓越學(xué)術(shù)、精彩未來(lái)”為愿景，科研與教學(xué)并重的科研2.0版發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略，已經(jīng)啟動(dòng)并投入建設(shè)的諾丁漢大學(xué)卓越燈塔計(jì)劃（寧波）創(chuàng)新研究院就是承載這一戰(zhàn)略的重要平臺(tái)。

諾丁漢大學(xué)卓越燈塔計(jì)劃（寧波）創(chuàng)新研究院將圍繞智能制造、綠色化學(xué)與能源、生命健康三大重點(diǎn)科研領(lǐng)域進(jìn)行布局，匯聚全球科技創(chuàng)新資源，建立集創(chuàng)新研究、成果轉(zhuǎn)化、技術(shù)轉(zhuǎn)移、人才培養(yǎng)于一體的國(guó)際化科技創(chuàng)新綜合平臺(tái)。

諾丁漢大學(xué)卓越燈塔計(jì)劃（寧波）創(chuàng)新研究院系列講堂（以下簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)“卓越燈塔“系列講堂）旨在分享寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)在智能制造、綠色化學(xué)與能源、生命健康三大重點(diǎn)領(lǐng)域的科研成果，傳播科學(xué)家精神，交流科研創(chuàng)新和知識(shí)轉(zhuǎn)化的經(jīng)驗(yàn)，培育下一代年輕科學(xué)家和工程師，為地方經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展注入新的活力。

首期卓越燈塔系列講堂將邀請(qǐng)馬丁·波利亞科夫教授線上開(kāi)講，為大家?guī)��?lái)題為《綠色化學(xué)前沿》的公開(kāi)講座。

20多年來(lái)，諾丁漢大學(xué)一直處于發(fā)展綠色和可持續(xù)化學(xué)的前沿。本次講座將介紹諾丁漢在綠色化學(xué)方面的研究成果，展現(xiàn)我們是如何與工業(yè)界合作開(kāi)發(fā)更清潔的工藝技術(shù)。講座也將通過(guò)諾丁漢獨(dú)一無(wú)二的碳中和實(shí)驗(yàn)室，向大家直觀呈現(xiàn)可持續(xù)綠色化學(xué)是如何實(shí)現(xiàn)的。

馬丁.波利亞科夫教授，大英帝國(guó)爵士，是英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)化學(xué)系教授。自1979年加入英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)以來(lái)，深耕綠色化學(xué)領(lǐng)域，是全球綠色化學(xué)研究的領(lǐng)軍人物之一。2011-2016年間，他擔(dān)任英國(guó)皇家學(xué)會(huì)（英國(guó)科學(xué)院）副主席兼管對(duì)外事務(wù)。他還是英國(guó)皇家工程院院士。早在1998年，波利亞科夫教授應(yīng)邀參加了中國(guó)首屆綠色化學(xué)大會(huì)，并在會(huì)上帶來(lái)了精彩的發(fā)言。除了擔(dān)任中國(guó)化學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)榮譽(yù)會(huì)員以外，他在去年還獲得了2019年中華人民共和國(guó)國(guó)際科學(xué)技術(shù)合作獎(jiǎng)。

這位集眾多高大上頭銜于一身的波利亞科夫教授還是個(gè)知名“國(guó)際網(wǎng)紅”，人稱(chēng)“愛(ài)因斯坦”教授（因愛(ài)因斯坦式的爆炸頭形象深入人心）。他在全球最大的視頻網(wǎng)站YouTube設(shè)立了個(gè)人頻道---“Periodic videos”，擁有超過(guò)百萬(wàn)的粉絲。Martyn和他的團(tuán)隊(duì)通過(guò)制作化學(xué)元素視頻，用風(fēng)趣幽默的方式向網(wǎng)友們介紹并宣傳一些有趣的化學(xué)知識(shí)，以此來(lái)推廣和科普化學(xué)知識(shí)。

“卓越燈塔”計(jì)劃，是英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)于2017年6月啟動(dòng)的一個(gè)重大項(xiàng)目，旨在集合諾丁漢大學(xué)的科研“優(yōu)勢(shì)兵力”，探索全球面臨的關(guān)鍵問(wèn)題并找出解決方案。

2019 年 5 月，寧波市人民政府與英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)簽訂戰(zhàn)略合作框架協(xié)議共建諾丁漢大學(xué)卓越燈塔計(jì)劃（寧波）創(chuàng)新研究院。創(chuàng)新研究院圍繞智能制造、綠色化學(xué)與能源、基于大數(shù)據(jù)的生命健康三大重點(diǎn)領(lǐng)域，大力引進(jìn)英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué) “卓越燈塔”計(jì)劃重要國(guó)際科技創(chuàng)新與人才資源，發(fā)揮寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)立足寧波、面向國(guó)際的優(yōu)勢(shì)，按照“科技創(chuàng)新、人才培養(yǎng)、成果轉(zhuǎn)化、產(chǎn)業(yè)發(fā)展”四位一體的合作模式，打造國(guó)內(nèi)領(lǐng)先、國(guó)際一流的科技創(chuàng)新平臺(tái)，為寧波“246”產(chǎn)業(yè)集群構(gòu)建提供強(qiáng)大且持久的科技支撐，為健康生活、智慧便捷、綠色低碳的社會(huì)提供前瞻性的產(chǎn)業(yè)化技術(shù)。

Lecture series of Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute

The Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute is a comprehensive platform that integrates global scientific innovation resources, in order to achieve innovative research, knowledge transfer and talent cultivation.

The Institute primarily addresses three prominent issues – Smart Manufacturing, Green Chemicals and Energy, Life Science and Health Care, all of which are closely connected with local development goals.

Each of the three areas will have a dedicated research centre hosting leading scholars and researchers. New academic staff will be recruited from all over the world to work in the institute.

The Institute launches lecture series to share the latest research outcomes from these three key research areas in the University of Nottingham, bridge the young and senior scientist for better communication and exchange and also help to promote the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among the public.

The first session we invited Professor Sir Martyn Poliakoff to give a public lecture named “Frontiers of Green Chemistry” next Friday 13th November 2020.

The University of Nottingham has been at the forefront on Green and Sustainable Chemistry for over 20 years. This talk will introduce some research in Green Chemistry at our University, will explain how we have worked with industry to develop cleaner processes and will describe our unique Carbon Neutral Laboratories showing how chemistry can be carried out in a more sustainable way.

Sir Martyn Poliakoff is Research Professor of Chemistry at University of Nottingham UK where he has worked since 1979. He is one of the pioneers of Green Chemistry. From 2011-16, he was Vice-President and Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society (the UK Academy of Sciences). He is also a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Sir Martyn was a speaker at the first Chinese Conference on Green Chemistry in Hefei in 1998. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Society, and Winner of the 2019 International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People’s Republic of China.
