2020年10月28日,“科創(chuàng)中國”院士鄞州行杜祥琬院士主題報告在寧波諾丁漢大學順利展開。本次活動由寧波中物激光與光電技術研究所主辦,得到寧波市科協(xié)和鄞州區(qū)科協(xié)的大力支持。寧波市科協(xié)副主席湯丹劍出席活動,鄞州區(qū)科協(xié)以及相關企業(yè)嘉賓共同出席。
寧波諾丁漢大學黨委副書記、副校長沈偉其教授代表學校首先對杜祥琬院士及夫人毛劍琴教授一行表示熱烈歡迎。隨后沈校長向各位嘉賓介紹了本次“科創(chuàng)中國”院士鄞州行活動背景和意義,以及寧波諾丁漢大學的辦學歷史、學校概況和發(fā)展愿景。
寧波諾丁漢大學在過去的十六年時間中,憑借獨特的優(yōu)勢,整合海內(nèi)外優(yōu)質(zhì)教學與科研資源,在培養(yǎng)優(yōu)秀人才、推動科研發(fā)展,助力地方升級等方面做出的突出貢獻。

此次杜院士的報告以“講故事、談學習、論人生”為題。杜院士以資深科學家的科研經(jīng)歷,個人豐富的閱歷和老一輩科學家們的生動事例,深入淺出地做了一場精彩報告,對在場的青年學子未來事業(yè)和人生道路的選擇有所啟迪。
杜院士語重心長地叮囑在場的學子們,在時代快速發(fā)展浪潮中,要保留自己的想法,不能人云亦云,選擇一個自己感興趣的行業(yè)或領域,并為之全身心的投入和付出,每一個人都必將會有所收獲和成長。報告之后,杜院士還和與會師生進行了互動交流。

在主題報告后,寧波諾丁漢大學博士在讀研究生仲家慧和我們分享了她的感想,她表示,自己目前跟隨Vladimir Brusic教授從事免疫計算學領域的研究,雖然和杜院士的研究領域不同,但是聆聽了杜院士的報告受益匪淺。
“杜院士從兩彈一星、核物理的老一輩科學家們的‘老’故事出發(fā),循循善誘,引領我們進入科研者的精神世界,啟發(fā)了我們寧諾學子對于求學意義,人生價值的深刻理解。杜院士的話語如涓涓細流,緩緩但深刻的印在了我們的心里。”
杜祥琬院士簡介
杜祥琬教授于1997年當選為中國工程院院士,2002年當選中國工程院副院長,2006年當選為俄羅斯國家工程科學院外籍院士。是中國科協(xié)榮委,空軍首席院士顧問。曾主持我國核試驗診斷理論和核武器中子學的精確化研究; 曾任國家863計劃激光專家組首席科學家,是我國新型強激光研究的開創(chuàng)者之一,他還擔任國家能源專家咨員會副主任和國家氣候變化專家委員會主任,主持并參與了中國能源發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略和應對氣候變化的咨詢研究工作。
On 28th October, as part of “Innovation China” Academician’s Yinzhou trip, a talk by Academician Du Xiangwanwas successfully held at University of Nottingham Ningbo China. This event was organized by Ningbo Zhongwu Laser and Photoelectricity Technology Institution and supported by Ningbo Association for Science and Technology. Representatives from the government and industries attended this event.
Prof Weiqi Shen, Deputy PartySecretary and ViceProvostof UNNC hosted the talk and gave a brief introduction of UNNC.
The topic of Academician Du's report was “Stories, Learning and Life”, his wonderful report brought life enlightenment and thinking to the audience.Academician Du’s talk isbased on his research experience as a senior scientist, his rich personal experience and vivid examples from the older generation of scientists. His talk inspired the young students presented. Academician Du also urged the undergraduate studentsto stick to your aim,choose a direction they are interested in and devote themselves to it.
Jiahui Zhong, a year 3 PhD students, shared some thoughts with us. She said that she is engaged in the research on immunocomputing with Professor Vladimir Brusic. Although it is different from Academician Du's field, she has benefited a lot from Academician Du's talk. She said: “Academician Du started with the stories of older generations of scientists in nuclear physics, he guided us into the spiritual world of the scientific researchers and inspired us to have a profound understanding of the significance of learning and the value of life. He’s words like a trickle, slowly but deeply impressed in each of our hearts.”
Introduction of Academician Du Xiangwan:
Du Xiangwanwas elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1997, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2002, and foreign member of the Russian National Academy of Engineering in 2006. He is the Honorary Committee of China Association for Science and Technology and the chief academician consultant of the Air Force.He has been in charge of the research on the diagnostic theory of nuclear tests and the precise nucleology of nuclear weapons in China.He was once the chief scientist of the laser expert group of the National 863 Plan, and one of the pioneers of the new strong laser research in China. He also served as the Deputy Director of the National Energy Expert Advisory Council and the Director of the National Climate Change Expert Committee, moreover, he has beenpresided over and participated in the advisory and research work on China's energy development strategy and climate change response.
