5月25日下午，諾丁漢大學卓越燈塔計劃(寧波)創(chuàng)新研究院入駐啟動。省委常委、市委書記彭佳學出席啟動儀式并致辭。

啟動儀式前，彭佳學來到研究院一樓展廳和實驗室，與研發(fā)人員親切交談，詳細了解極端裝備、綠色循環(huán)節(jié)能減排、核磁共振成像、復合材料、工業(yè)重載無人機動力系統(tǒng)、有機固體廢棄物資源轉化等領域的科研成果。

他說，這些成果技術含量高、應用價值大，希望研究院加強與政府、企業(yè)的合作，建立資本與科技深度融合機制，找準發(fā)展方向，加快建設進度，提高關鍵核心技術攻關能力和轉化效率，鍛造更強的創(chuàng)新競爭力。

彭佳學在致辭時說，寧波諾丁漢大學是習近平總書記主政浙江期間，親自指導推動建立的中國第一所具有獨立法人資格的中外合作大學。17年來，在國家有關部委和省市各級各方面的大力支持下，在英國諾丁漢大學的精心幫助下，寧波諾丁漢大學發(fā)展迅速、成績突出，為培養(yǎng)國際化專業(yè)人才、促進中英文化教育交流合作作出了積極貢獻。

特別是卓越燈塔計劃（寧波）創(chuàng)新研究院組建不到一年，已經(jīng)在智能制造、綠色化學與能源、生命健康等領域創(chuàng)造了一批科研成果，取得了良好開端。

英國駐上�？傤I事館總領事胡克定、英國諾丁漢大學執(zhí)行校長席若·韋斯特、寧波諾丁漢大學執(zhí)行校長尼克·邁爾斯致辭。

啟動會上，研究院還與浙江華瑞航空制造有限公司、深圳市百盛傳動有限公司、寧波戴維醫(yī)療器械股份有限公司、寧波禾隆新材料股份有限公司等知名企業(yè)分別簽訂了科研合作協(xié)議，將在創(chuàng)新研究、成果轉化、技術轉移及人才培養(yǎng)等方面開展多層次合作。

UNNC Beacons of Excellence to boost local industry

25 May: The launch ceremony of the Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute (hereinafter referred to as "the China Beacons Institute") was held at its interim location in the Ningbo National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

Jiaxue Peng, Standing Committee member of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee and secretary of the Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, attended the ceremony and gave a speech. He noted that University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is the first Sino-foreign university with independent legal personality approved and established during President Xi’s administration in Zhejiang, and has developed rapidly with remarkable achievements in the past 17 years.

“I hope that the China Beacons Institute will focus on the global technology frontier, integrating the innovation advantages of University of Nottingham and the local industrial foundation, to play a significant role in the force to promote the high-quality development of Ningbo.”

Mr Chris Wood, Consul-General of British Consulate-General Shanghai, Professor Shearer West, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, and Professor Nick Miles, UNNC Provost, each gave a speech.

At the ceremony, the China Beacons Institute signed research cooperation agreements with several industry-leading companies, including the Zhejiang Huarui Aviation Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Best Motion, Ningbo David Medical Device Co., Ltd., and Honorwood.
